Zuhur/DUHR

Zuhr is the second prayer which a Muslim has to offer in a day. The time of Fajr prayer starts just after mid-noon and one can offer the prayer till noon. The Zuhr prayer comprises of 4Rakats of Sunnah, then 4Rakats of Fard, then there are 2Rakats of Sunnah and then there are 2Ratkats of Nafl or voluntary prayer.
As far as the reward is concerned. The Fard prayer of Zuhr carry the same reward as every other Fard prayer and their reward is with Allah Almighty. However, as far as the Sunnah of Zuhr are concerned, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said in a hadith:

“Whoever observes the practice of performing four Rakat before Zuhr prayer and four (2 sunnah, 2 nafl) after the zuhr prayer, Allah will send him against the Fire (of Hell).” (Tirmidhi)
At another place, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said pertaining to Zuhr prayer:

“This is an hour at which the gates of heaven are opened, and I like that my good deeds should rise to heaven at that time.” (Tirmidhi)
On Friday the Zuhr prayer is replaced by Jumu'ah, it is obligatory for Muslim men who are above the age of puberty to pray in congregation either in the mosque of the city they live in or with a group of Muslims. Women, however, are recommended but not obligated to pray in a congregation on Friday prayer. The Zuhr prayer, on Friday, is led by a Khutba which is a speech given by the leader of the mosque (Imam) with a purpose to educate, bond, guide, and improve the quality of the community as well as propagate Islam (Dawa).
In a nutshell, Zuhr and asr are as imperative as the rest of the prayers and they carry great significance and reward. Every Muslim must make sure that in addition to offering the Fard Rakats of both the prayers, one also offers the Sunnah as well.
